Depth log

Freight in, cranes up, bunds built, lagoons pumped. One crew for every level of the job, from the jetty to the lagoon floor.

Freight forwarding

Sea and air cargo booked, cleared and delivered: from the supplier overseas to the jetty, and on to any island site.

Heavy machinery

Cranes, excavators, telehandlers and trucks for lifting, excavation, earthmoving, cargo handling and haulage, crewed by operators who know island sites: tight access, soft ground and wind off the lagoon.

Dredging & reclamation

Cutter suction dredgers that turn lagoon into land: harbour basins, channels and new islands, pumped and shaped to survey.

Dredging & reclamation

From lagoon
to land.

  1. 01
    Survey

Bathymetry of the lagoon floor sets the design: dredge levels, bund line and finished level.

  2. 02
    Dredge & build

The bed is levelled and a geobag-core breakwater is armoured in rock to +2.2 m to hold the fill.

  3. 03
    Pump

The cutter suction dredger pumps sand through the pipeline into the cell behind the breakwater.

  4. 04
    Shape

Fill is dozed to +1.8 m, compacted and handed over as buildable land.

Marine works.

Breakwaters, revetments and groynes: rock armour over geobag cores, built from barge and shore to the drawings.

Breakwaters & harbours

Twin rubble-mound arms shelter a dredged channel and basin, closed by a quay wall on the island side.

Channel & basin−3.5M
Revetments

Rock-armoured shore protection laid along the reclaimed edge, set out by chainage from the design.

Rock armour40 – 200KG
Groynes

Straight groynes run out across the beach contours to hold sand and stop the shoreline drifting.

Crest level+1.2M
Fishtail groynes

A trunk with two tails: it breaks the waves and holds the beach on both sides of the head.

Geobag core1T
Typical section · groyne trunk

One-tonne geobags stacked as a pyramid core in a dredged trench, armoured in rock to a top level of +1.2 m.

The fleet

Maintained and crewed. Land, sea and seabed, mobilised from Thilafushi to any atoll.
